MVCLA Market Stall.

The home-spun annual Megalong Makers Market continues to grow steadily from year to year. As a dedicated not-for-profit organisation and event, the proceeds from the Community Stall—which proudly features the famous lemonade our community lovingly produces from locally grown fruit—along with the stall rental fees, have collectively helped raise valuable funds. These funds enable us to successfully deliver on a wide range of initiatives designed to support and help our community thrive and flourish.

Trivia Night.

We also raise funds by hosting enjoyable events such as Trivia Nights, which include quizzes, raffles, and plenty of family-friendly activities designed to bring everyone together for great times and lasting shared memories. Additionally, we are exploring opportunities to make good use of our community-built wood-fired pizza oven, aiming to boost our fundraising efforts while offering a delicious and affordable meal for all to enjoy.

Charity Events.

Not all fundraising goes to the MVCLA directly. We also participate and support charitable events that benefit the wider community. Recent examples include an open air cinema event to promote Rural Mental Health, the Riding Free from Domestic Violence event organised by locals Siobhan McIlven and Erin Hanlon, and the yearly Sydney Legacy’s Operation Rosemary which supports the families of veterans who have passed away or been injured as a result of their service. Each year, rosemary harvested from the Harris’ farm in Megalong Valley is sprigged and the 50,000 sprigs of rosemary gifted by Sydney Legacy to the public leading up to and on Anzac Day, to remember veterans and their families..
